Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.

Barnet Council, GoodGym and Earthwatch are joining forces to plant a Tiny Forest in the borough we are mobilising to help!

A Tiny Forest is a dense and rapidly growing native woodland in a small area. It will provide a protected habitat for wildlife, capture carbon, filter the air of harmful particulates and reduce flooding and soil loss. You can find out more about the benefits of a Tiny Forest on the Earthwatch Website.

The project will need volunteers to plant the trees, build fences and look after it over the next year or two while it takes hold and develops. We hope that GoodGym members will be at the forefront of these efforts!

Planting is due to take place at the end of this year. In the run-up to that we are organising a few events to get familiar with the proposed site (off the North Circular, near Henlys Corner) and tell everyone more about Tiny Forests.

So please join us for a bit of litter picking and an information session. There will also be an optional Yoga/fitness session after for those who want to stay behind.

How are you getting there?
