Muck In Day - Tree Planting

Led by the Eastern Moors Wardens:

Sunday 9th February 2020 at 10.00am to Sunday 9th February 2020 at 12.30pm Join the Eastern Moors ranger team for this tree planting Muck In Day and help to restore the Peak District uplans.

Meeting point TBC at 10am.

This winter we're planting 8,000 trees on the Eastern Moors and we need your help to do it! Come along for the next open-to-all volunteering day and join our regular Muck In group to take part in our tree planting work this winter. These newly planted woodlands will help to connect up exisiting woodlands, providing more habitat for a wide variety of plant and animal species as well as allowing animals to move through the landscape under woodland cover.

Meeting point to be confirmed, meeting at 10am. There will be a short walk to the work site, which may involve walking along a road. We'll then return to the meeting point for 12.30pm.

What to bring

All tools will be provided, including work gloves. Please come dressed appropriately for the weather in warm and waterproof layers as required. Good sturdy footwear is essential or you may not be able to participate. Please wear walking boots or similar with a good grip and ankle support. We will stop for a brew and biscuits but if you wish to bring other food or cold drinks with you please do. A small rucksack to carry everything is recommend, as there is usually a short walk to the work site.

There is no charge for the Muck In days, as you are helping us with vital conservation work!

Accessibility

Muck In Days are an opportunity for everyone to get involved with volunteering. Suitable for all ages and abilities - students, couples, retirees and families - come along and give it a go. Please note toilets are rarely available onsite. Please ensure you dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy closed toe footwear.
