Goodgym Islington returned to Highbury Quadrant Estate Gardens on Tuesday morning, with Area Activator Simon, David and Anne on hand to help Frannie and the team from Octopus Community Network with some heavy lifting!

We opened up the new greenhouse cabin in the meadow (built just before the first lock down- GG Islington contributed to laying foundations back in the day!), and gathered a trio of wheelbarrows to assist with transporting some newly delivered fresh soil over to the orchard. This section of the quadrant is a lovely wild garden, a series of purpose built planting beds (for leafy greens and vegetables- we even had some chard to take home with us) and a composting station for the local community.

Within 50 minutes, the three of us were able to fill up all of the new planting beds with fresh soil, ready for installing new vegetables and donated flowers from the Chelsea Flower Show.

What an excellent way to start a morning- top stuff folks!
