David led the way for our first Friday distribution shift at Birmingham Central Foodbank. We have been regularly taking part in Monday evening sorting sessions but I put out the call to see if we could provide additional support at this challenging time and he stepped up straight away.

The difference at this session is the volunteers get involved with putting together the food packs to be given out to the clients accessing the Foodbank. Obviously, at this time the usual welcoming cafe environment has had to be abandoned for the safety of all but it does not water down the importance of this task. There really has not been a time where being able to access Foodbanks has been more important, so well done David for being able to step up.

It was even more of a physical workout than Monday evenings, so all in all it was a good task for the heart and soul. I’ll be posting the Friday shift every week through the crisis to keep the Foodbank going. Join in if you can.
