Create a butterfly habitat
Help attract more butterflies to Ham Lands

The second Saturday of the month can only mean one thing: time for the monthly butterfly habitat project with the Friends of Ham Lands.
We’ll be meeting at 11am (to give time to fit a Parkrun in!) and it runs until 12pm.
Tasks include cutting back encroaching scrub to maintain sheltered open grassland areas and open woodland which are attractive to butterfly’s and also maintaining some of the small footpaths through the scrub that are in danger of being overgrown. Areas where this is necessary have been identified by local naturalists and the Council’s ecology officer.
There are gloves provided if needed but do bring your own if you have them. There is a limited supply of tools, so please bring a pair of secateurs if you have them. There are usually lots of brambles and nettles, so don’t forget “longies and armies” (that’s long leggings/trousers and sleeves!)
How are you getting there?
