Prospect HospiceThe Prospect have launched their first ever real Christmas Tree Collection service and have approached us to help out this weekend.
Supporters of the hospice will have already pre-booked for their tree to be collected and made a donation for this service. The collections will then take place from two βhub sitesβ one of which is in Royal Wootton Bassett and the other in Wanborough on Saturday 8th January and Sunday 9th January.
Those that volunteer for this initiative will first meet at Prospect Hospice in Wroughton where they will receive a briefing from the fundraising team, route maps, a bacon roll and tea/coffee to set you up for the job. They will then move across to one of the two hub sites where the collection routes will have been mapped out.
Working in groups of 3 to 4 they will then set off following the planned routes, collecting the trees for collection and placing them into vans where once full they will return to the hub for chipping and recycling.
The length of time this task will take will depend on the number of trees that are booked in for collection and the number of volunteers that come forward, however they envisage to be finished by lunchtime on each of the days.
Please note: This task is walkable, but will require lifting of the trees and placing them into the vans. Whilst they are predominately looking for people who can do the walking and collecting element, they are also short of a couple of drivers.
Please help support Prospect Hospice with this new initiative as they desperately need to raise vital funds to provide this service to the local community.
