On a sunny Sunday, 5 members of Coventry goodgym met at the little spot of woodland in Allesley. It seemed fitting that on the Queen’s platinum jubilee, we should be helping out at the Allesley Jubilee Nature Reserve!

Armed with spades and enthusiasm, we soon set about clearing the tarmac path back to its original boundary, creating a path that is more accessible to different users to enjoy this quiet haven for wildlife. It was also a good work out, as clearing the grass, weeds and vegetation proved tough work. Time passed quickly though as we enjoyed the winter sun, pretty snow drops and chatter. We certainly got lucky with the weather today too; dodging the showers and winds that soon closed in after the task.

We cleared about half the path in total and will look forward to returning in the future to complete the job for Allesley and Coundon Wedge Conservation Society.

Well done everyone!

Looks like you've all done a fab job on the path. So glad the weather stayed nice for you as well!
