Great to see everyone tonight and a warm welcome back to Jess after studying for her exam.

Unfortunately Michelle from the Courtyard had to cancel tonight’s task, due to unforeseen circumstances, so we opted to do one of our favourite tasks... a litter pick in Brueton Park. We even got thanked by a cyclist in the park tonight!

Tonight we ran a slightly different route there so that we could start our litter pick by the duck pond and work our way through to the start of the Park Run hill. Once the task was complete, and all realising that we probably need to be wearing a few more layers and maybe some running gloves, we continued on to Tudor Grange for tonight’s fitness session. With last week’s session still fresh in our minds, the consensus was to do a pyramid session again and try to make improvements.

The pyramid session involves 30 seconds of hard running, 45 seconds of slightly easier run, 1 minute of race pace, back to 45 seconds slightly harder, and finishing off with a final 30 second hard sprinting. Each interval has a 30 second rest in between. This session is really good to help build up your stamina and the amount of oxygen in your blood. Well done to Chris who still pushed hard on his tired half marathon legs and to Jess and Rachel who pushed each other in every interval.

Once everyone got their breaths back, we started our run back to base and a final stretch.

See you next week for our leaflet drop for Breast Cancer Haven.
