On a cold yet sunny February afternoon, Kash, Madhan and Sevan met at Dean Gardens armed with their metal detectors, looking for treasure. At the start, pickings were slim. They came across lots of run of the mill rubbish, tissues, cigarette butts and so on.

Sevan, with prior experience of Dean Gardens directed them to the bushes, There their luck improved with the occasional ping on their wands of a can, a can, another can. Then came a bit of excitement, Madhan found some packaged fruit containing can-taloupe melon.

On we went, filling our first bag half way around the park. Soon out metal detectors fired again, it was a bag full of food including some tin-dian daal. Other notable finds were

  • A pair of sunglasses 🕶️
  • A bag of grapes 🍇
  • 8 pairs of paired up socks in a bag 🧦🧦🧦🧦🧦🧦🧦🧦

Finally, as we came to the end of our quest, we hit pay dirt. A barbecue pit that had been dug in at ground level. A cunning plot to hide the valuable dinner making equipment.

Satisfied with our afternoon's work, we tied up our second bag and headed into West Ealing looking for other precious finds 💰
