Walking/Running to garden at Oasis
Gardening at Oasis to help improve the facilities for its users
Please note that this group run has been cancelled.
Welcome to GoodGym Cardiff! We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every week to get active and do a physical task to help the charities and community organisations and projects in our area.
The Task:
We will run to Oasis where we will help with gardening.
Oasis Cardiff is an non profit charity that aims to help Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Cardiff.
The aim and vision of Oasis is to help Refugees and Asylum Seekers integrate within their local community. Not only do they encourage integration within the Cardiff community and culture, but they are also keen to learn and be inspired by the cultures and traditions that they are exposed to daily by the wonderful clients at Oasis.
They have roughly 100 – 150 visitors daily, this includes people from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Mali and Congo among many other countries. Some have just arrived in Cardiff where as other have been here for a few years and visit Oasis to socialise with the many friends they have made here.
The Run/walk:
GoodGym is for everyone. We welcome runners of all abilities and it is often possible to walk to the task if you would prefer. We always have a back-marker so no-one is left behind - we're about achieving something together so you'll always be welcome no matter what your pace is.

New to GoodGym?
This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.
New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.

Group run cancellation
Following extensive research, consultation with our trustees and work on how GoodGym as a community can play a positive role during the Coronavirus outbreak we have reached the conclusion to make extensive changes to our operations.
**All group runs will stop for the foreseeable future**
This decision has been made as these are the events at which most people gather and at which we are most at risk of spreading infection.
We will continue to update this page with our most up to date guidance:
