A key base building session for those training for the Camino London Ultra 50km, but also available for anyone looking for a varied workout:
Week 5: Hill Sprints
40 seconds up-hill running, walk/easy jog back down x 8 reps 1 min rest between each rep
Hard effort about 80-85% capacity for the up-hills. Easy breathing for recovery on the walking/jogging descents back to start.
The key to this session is to find a balance between running hard and maintaining a sustainable pace over 8 repeats. Achieving even splits over the full workout is the optimum result!
