"Prom-ises, Prom-ises"

The weather looked to be putting a dampener on things but nothing stops the GoodGymers when there are deeds to be done. Ten hardy souls headed for the seafront to get the legs turning and to "enjoy" the bracing wind. Naturally, with the windy, damp weather, the Prom was deserted - even the wheel was empty and lonely! It was a dramatic night for sure and everyone did great simply to get out there and put a good, solid twenty minutes of effort in.

"We like to run to Bugcycle, we like to run at night..."

The weather was turning and as the drizzle turned to rain, the GoodGymers set about their gardening task with style, swagger and got pruning and weeding as if their lives depended on it* (disclaimer - no ones lives were ever in any danger, even with the sharp tools!). The skill of finding pairs of gloves to use in a box of several permutations was one that took some mastering

"Cockles and muscles, alive a heave-ho!"

Tasks were allocated and wheelbarrows and bins soon filled with detritus, weeds and the effects of some seriously good pruning, and there was even time for some of us to flex some muscles manoeuvering some seriously large tyres into place, whilst giving kudos to whoever moved them there in the first place!

"Grease is the word"

As the saying goes, "many hands make light work" and even though the light itself was fading under the evening sky full of rainclouds, it was easy to see what a difference a spot of elbow grease and teamwork can do. In a relatively short time our work here was done, and despite the drenching, there were lots of smiles on faces, and that lovely warm satisfactory glow of having done good!

"I do like Mondays"

Thanks to Belinda, Paul, John, Natacha, Sue, Ros, Lucy, Gill & Graham not only for their hard work but for making yours truly so welcome! If there is a better way to illuminate a damp and dreary Monday evening, I've yet to find it!
