It was a great experience with Jason from TBBT , Johnathan Team Leader and Chris a regular volunteer at this particular TBBT hub. I was given the role of manning the freebies table . Each person who had registered with TBBT paid (£7.50) for their 3 bags of shopping with Jason then Johnathan and Chris provided them with their shopping . They then came to me to chose 3 items which are the freebies !! They varied from a 3 pack of trifles to a 5kg bottle of natural yoghurt!! Jason said we were expecting 76 people but there were 4 no shows which happened to be new people sadly. It must be daunting to come to such a place that not many people have heard about. Please look at TBBT website www.the breadandbutterthing.org Finally, here are some photos. I did gain consent from Jason, Johnathan and Chris to share their photos. The food photos is my purchase for £7.50 plus a freebie of 5kg of natural yoghurt which is now becoming frozen yoghurt. The final photo is our evening meal using my TBBT shop plus butter beans from my cupboard and green beans from my freezer. I will be volunteering again as it was great fun.
