This morning I met up with Tim for a mission for Mrs S in Wandsworth.

Mrs S is currently in hospital. In order to be released home, she needs a single level living environment set up. GoodGym were asked if we could help with this by moving a single bed from an upstairs bedroom to a downstairs living room.

We were met at Mrs S's by a couple of her family members. As the living room would be incredibly cramped if the bed were to be moved into it, Mrs S's relatives were contemplating getting rid of either a sofa or a couple of armchairs. Being as we were both there and can probably be considered as furniture-moving hobbyists, we volunteered to take outside whichever item they selected. The sofa was nominated as tribute, so we began.

With the cushions and things on the sofa taken. Are of to prevent them from falling off during the move, Tim and one of Mrs S's relatives got the ball rolling with the more substantive parts of the sofa move. The sofa itself was admirably short. This meant that Tim and co. could simply stand it on one end and rotate it around whichever doorframe took their fancy. Of course, since getting it out of the living room was so easy, the universe paid them back when trying that trick on the front door: the sofa was simply too broad having somehow become the biggest little settee in the world (we know). Luckily, while removing the door from the frame had been only briefly contemplated, I remembered about wheels, and how they can often be removed from sofas when the sofa is too annoying to bear. We popped these off and finished the move 😎👍🏻

The second part of the job was to move the single bed downstairs. Wonderfully, this was a light divan with an equally light accompanying mattress. Myself, Tim and Mrs S's relative formed a three-point turn of a team, rendering the stairs, stair lift, and corridors mere spectators to our magical majestic team of moving maestros (except the bit where a lever on the stairlift caught my dress, but let's not talk about that 😅).

Jobs completely done within 15 minutes from saying hello, we made our goodbyes and took a quick photo of Tim displaying the sofa to its best advantage.

Great working with you, Tim!
