We had joy, we had fun, we had Southsea in the sun...
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the Southsea Beachwatch in Portsmouth.
- Saturday, 1st of August 2020
- Led by Judy Knapp
After a swim and a salsa class, six of us stayed at Southsea seafront to litter-pick. Louisa, Rachel, Mel, Val, birthday girl Maura and I worked our way from the bandstand, past Southsea castle and along the beach. We collected a substantial amount of drinks bottles and cans for recycling, and then the usual cigarette ends, wet wipes, plastic bottle tops, BBQ grills and plastic cutlery, plus at least 3 socks, a pair of broken flip flops and 2 pairs of sunglasses. We had plenty of thank-yous from passers-by and rewarded ourselves with al fresco coffee and ice cream.
