This was our first mid week mission since the end of the most recent lockdown, with the weather finally looking good it felt a bit more like the old group missions (except of the numbers). It was lovely to see everyone again, including Poppy at Global Gardens, the space was certainly changing and it was great to hear about how much goodgym can get on and help with over the coming months.

But enough of the future, lets get on with the present.

We split into three groups;

  1. Shoveling up some remaining gravel into a wheelbarrow to fill up a hole.
  2. Pitch fork some dried vegetation off the compost heap to make way for another growing area.
  3. Weeding in the fruit orchard around the blackcurrant and raspberry plants.

Nathan and Martin got to work on the gravel wasting no time, throwing at around as if it were made of air...several trips back and forth and it was done. Barely enough time for me to get a photo!

Meg and Sophie made their way to the compost heap, and go pitch fork ready. after a few turns they found their mojo and the vegetation was flying onto the tarpaulin sheet ready to be dragged up to it's new location.

Michael went to work on the fruit orchard with Poppy and caught up on all the Global Garden news.

The hour flew by so fast that it barely felt that we had been there, but we managed to get plenty done and will certainly be returning again soon.
