Back by popular demand, the 12ks of Christmas challenge!
The 12ks of Christmas is a virtual event. Our goal is to get as many of you as possible outside and moving at the same time (but from any location) whilst raising vital funds.
About the 12ks of Christmas
The ‘12ks of Christmas’ challenge starts at 1pm on Saturday 3rd December, where participants will have one hour to complete 1km of running, walking, cycling or any self-propelled activity of their choosing. At 2pm, they’ll have one hour to do 2km. At 3pm, the timer starts again for 3km, and so on!
Participants can stop at any point. Some might do 1km in total and others might carry on all the way through to midnight, completing 78 kilometres – or the equivalent of just under 2 marathons – overall.
This means anybody and everybody can take part – of all ages, abilities and in any location.
Where does the 12ks of Christmas take place?
Although this is a virtual challenge we will have a hub at the Knavesmire pub so there will be opportunity to run in a group and socialise in between runs/walks and then party once you reach your limit. We will have a raffle and please bring cake to share. The pub sells delicious pizza to refuel as we go.
If anyone is still wanting to continue after the pub shuts (with either running or partying) we will move to Vicky’s house just up the road.
How to enter
Entries cost £12.

You would need to talk to us, it's two sites. First is working with the parade team to walk with the parade. Second is the morning set up, running around the site getting stall holders in place and setting up gazebos, third is on site litter picking and recycling.
