Sunday 28th April

It was a pleasure to catch up today with London Marathon runner extraordinaire Latoya after her amazing street bashing exploits of last Sunday, and her efforts of last week were a useful training ground for today's furniture building mission for Ms E.

With three different Ikea items to be built, and a very limited amount of floor space, we decided to divide the task - I took the largest box (a set of shelves) into the kitchen, and Latoya was left with the smaller cabinets in the very dark narrow hallway (hence the extremely poor quality photo...a miners lamp would've been helpful).

We individually worked through our various instruction leaflets, aided by some of Ms E's tools (including an unusually shaped hammer), and after a good hour of toil, we were 2/3 of the way there, albeit the challenge was then to relocate the various items into the rooms Ms E had chosen. After a bit more building and dismantling, Latoya had the final cabinet complete and looking pretty smart, and she left this in the kitchen ready for Ms E to move into her bathroom once space had been cleared.

No medals this week for crossing the finishing line, but Ms E seemed delighted with our efforts, and we felt pretty chuffed ourselves that we'd got everything done before the cut off time...
