Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Cardiff runner
How many Goodgym volunteers does it take to change a light bulb?
Let's see...
Cardiff Council referred Ms J to Goodgym for help with changing a light bulb. Goodgym's Sean volunteered and made his way to the task via a combination of legwork and public transport (sprint, bus, walk, sit, run).
Ms J greeted Sean and showed him to the ceiling light fitting in her kitchen. Sean stepped on the ready-placed stool, then removed the old bulb and popped the new one in. A flick of the light switch confirmed a successful change.
Ms J was very happy with the simple but important difference it made. She was used to doing things for herself and was frustrated with her current limitations. Her mood and mental well-being take a hit when things around her home fall into disrepair or simply become messy. So the small fix made a big positive change for her wellbeing.
As a bonus task, Sean also took down the net curtain in the adjacent downstairs loo.
With the hard graft done (I used that phrase lightly), Sean and Ms J sat down for a natter over a cuppa and a Club biscuit.
Ms J remarked that her garden used to be spick and span, but had become unkempt. Sean informed her that that was another task where Goodgym can help.
The time flew by as they continued to talk about life, work, family and the durable quality of M&S clothing.
So, How many Goodgym volunteers does it take to change a light bulb?
You may conclude that it takes just one Goodgym volunteer to change a lightbulb. Yet in doing so, we change a whole lot more.
Alternatively, you may conclude it takes many Goodgym members to change a lightbulb. After all, it wouldn't be possible without the workers at Goodgym HQ, the support of the Area Activator and Taskforce team.
Or, in the sillyverse, that it takes only one Goodgym member to change a light bulb, but at least two to change a heavy one!!

Lol very funny and very heart warming. Nice Job - to the one who was there to deliver the support needed.
