Ms J had been given a new iPhone from her son, as a thank you for her continuing help and support.

Whilst pleased to receive such a kind gift, Ms J was also apprehensive, as she had never before owned, or used, a smart phone. Nor does she have broadband or Internet, as she has had no need of it.

Ms J had a list of topics that she wanted to cover, including making a call, texting, sending and receiving emails and using the camera.

We spent two hours going through step-by-step procedures, until Ms J felt confident enough to try it out by herself.

Ms J was very proud of herself when she was able to take a photograph of me, find it in her photos and view it...something she had not been able to do.

Several text messages had been sent to Ms J, but she had not been able to reply. Together, we composed and sent her first ever text...and she was delighted.

In her 80's, Ms J had no experience of modern technology and was rather anxious about it. She had tried to sign up for classes, but was told they were full...she also felt that she was too old to learn.

By the end of our time together, Ms J had an idea of the basics and is keen to keep practicing until she understands what to do.

I am hoping to see Ms J again, either for our next IT session, or to clear the weeds from her front path...or to hear more about her past, as a jazz singer!

What a lovely, kind, interesting lady. It was an absolute pleasure to meet and help her.
