Weeds had taken advantage of the recent sun and rain to take over Mrs A's patio. As a full time carer, she didn't have the time or energy to deal with them herself - and they clearly detracted from the sight of some lovely blooms.
But she enjoys gardening and was determined to help. So, between us, we tidied the flower beds and pots, cut back the neighbour's vine and cleared all the gaps in the patio paving slabs (Mrs A's purchase of a weeding knife proved to be invaluable). Mischief, the black lab, was lovely, but not much help.
Hopefully, Mrs A can now enjoy her flowers, hang washing in a nicer environment, and more easily deal with any cheeky weeds that dare to show their faces again.
