\n\nThe runs will start from 9.am most likely with the 21km Race first\, closely followed by the other distances. We are working on a staggered start to avoid crowdin g. The cut-off time for the finish of all distances will be 12:00.
\n\ nAll finishers will be awarded a custom designer medal (including the Kids fun run) and there will be cash prizes for the race winners.
\n\n< p>The sandpits on Horsell Common are famously the site where the Martians first landed in H.G. Wells novel The War of the Worlds. Our race is in i t’s Sixth year and the route always goes through the historic sandpits w e have chosen this as our theme and the name for the event.\n\nHors ell Common is privately owned common land with public access. Almost half of the common is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSS I). We are very privileged to be able to run on the common and take our e nvironmental responsibilities very seriously. The routes are chosen to re spect the flora and fauna that live there and we strive to minimise our im pact. Our races are always litter free and this year once again we have p ledged to be free of single-use plastics.

On the way back\, you will be running through the backstreets of Limehouse and Wapping before cr ossing over Tower Bridge as you head pass Bermondsey station and loop arou nd Rotherhithe\, Canada Water and Surrey Quays. The last couple of miles a re through Deptford as you muster your energy with the crowds cheering you on for a sprint finish to Cutty Sark!

There will be a medal presentation ceremony from 13: 00 - 13:30.
Everything about the run will be wrapped up by 13:30\, but we encourage runners to stay and greet the arrival of t he 80+ group of cyclists who will be completing the Jo Cox Way at 14:00.\n\n
For the runners\, the 5k course:
\n\nThe R un For Jo will start and finish in O'Meara Street. The route will be down O'Meara Street\, take a right on Union Street\, left on Southwark Bridge R oad\, left on Marshalsea\, left on Borough High Street\, left on Southwark Street and a final left on to O'Meara Street. That's a kilometre\, so aft er 5 circuits/laps\, that will equate to 5km.

\n\nWe have three 2 mile races and a 3 x 1 mile relay which is open to any team of three runners (and is loads of fun - the highlight of the series!) . It is affectionately being called the Ice Cream Relay a s every runner gets a free ice cream at the end of the race. The junior ru nners love this race!
\n\nThe course is an accurately measured\, undulating 1-mile pavement loop around the perimeter of the park. Sh aded by trees for much of its length\, the course is perfect for summer ev ening racing or speedwork.
\n\n£5 for members of affiliated running clubs and £7 for all other runners for each rac e\n3-race series in advance for only £13 (affil iated) or £18 (unaffiliated)
